ABSOLUT ARRIVES AT LONDON AND EDINBURGH COCKTAIL WEEK WITH ONE SOURCE SUSTAINABILITY CONCEPT

Absolut arrives at London and Edinburgh Cocktail Week with One Source sustainability concept

One Source. One Community. One Superb Vodka.

Absolut, the UK’s number one Premium Vodka brand[1], is continuing its commitment to quality and sustainability by collaborating with sustainability-led bars during both London and Edinburgh Cocktail Week, offering consumers a range of discounted cocktails made using sustainable ingredients.

Absolut will first be spotted during London Cocktail Week at FAM Bar on October 10th from 5pm, bringing consumers a non-ticketed Recycled Record Night, where used vinyl records can be exchanged Absolut cocktail, The ‘Material Girl’. The seasonal vodka soda with a twist is a blend of all things sustainable: Absolut is rested in propolis, a natural resinous ingredient created by bees during the production of honey and mixed with FAM Bar’s fennel cordial created in-house, before being topped with soda.

A second collaboration with The Glory, on Sunday 13th October from 5-11pm, invites potential and established drag artists of all genders to bring along items in need of a new home in its first-ever ‘Drag Swap’. The night will be hosted by legendary drag queen Jonny Woo with a collection of The Glory’s finest new acts, who will be creating looks with donated clothes to turn out stunning performances, supported by a range of Absolut sustainable serves for £6 all evening.

The following week, Absolut is working its way up to Edinburgh Cocktail Week, where it will be in the heart of the village with bar group partner, Boda Bars. All seven bars will be involved in village with Akva, Sofis, Southside and Harry’s Bar offering signature cocktails for £4 throughout the week and bartenders from each venue have been challenged by the brand to use perishable ingredients that would normally be thrown away. From these reused goods, bartenders have created Oleo Saccharum, Flavoured Syrup and Coffee bitters, all three of which will be used to make three Absolut cocktails to sell in the cocktail village.

James Bremner, On-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK, comments: “We’re delighted to be putting sustainability at the heart of Absolut’s activities for both London and Edinburgh Cocktail Weeks. Our collaborations with FAM, The Glory and Bada Bars takes the sustainable ethos of Absolut and Swedish production to create a range of unique premium cocktails. Absolut has always believed in using its voice to promote change and sustainability, and so we are delighted to be driving this vision forward during a peak time for the on-trade.”

Absolut’s premium production strategy, One Source, sits at the core of the brand, ensuring all manufacturing is responsible. From the iconic bottle made from recycled glass manufactured locally, to innovative CO2 neutral distillation process to create better taste, Absolut is proud to take responsibility from seed to the bottle.
