The world has changed a lot since Montana’s story began. Founded in 1934, Montana is one of New Zealand’s original wine brands, and its exceptional quality and timeless taste has been enjoyed by generations, for generations. The Montana name was inspired by the mountain ranges that protected the original vineyard – a small block in the Waitakere Ranges, west of Auckland - and quickly grew to become a household name in New Zealand. From these humble beginnings, Montana’s success continued as the range of quality wines grew. Vineyards were established in other regions where winemakers carefully matched grape varieties to best express the area, producing wines of exceptional character. Every bottle of Montana is built on a proud heritage as solid as the ranges it is named after. In the same way New Zealand is ingrained in every bottle of Montana, Montana is ingrained in New Zealand.
