Ever since its creation in 1894, at the height of the golden era of luxury and the Industrial Revolution, Longmorn has stood out as the pinnacle of whisky excellence. It was made to be different, made to embody the essence of precision and perfection.

History and Know-How

Ever the perfectionist, founder John Duff took every step to ensure the best for his whisky. To this end, he built a railway station linking the distillery directly to the Great North of Scotland Railway local line in order to bring in the best ingredients and to export his precious liquid. The station closed in 1980, but the ticket office still remains on our site.

John Duff’s attention to detail was legendary. Every step of the process was refined and designed for perfection. The Longmorn distillery is one of only a handful to have their wash stills in one room and their spirit stills in another. Amongst the most ornate in the business, they were the envy of Speyside at their installation, as they still are to this day.
