Since its creation, Pernod Ricard has been committed to preserving the environment. In 1966, Paul Ricard established the Oceanographic Institute on the island of Les Embiez, in the Var region. Original and visionary , this initiative embodies the Group’s commitment to nature and biodiversity.
Pernod Ricard’s environmental commitments are outlined in its “Quality-Safety-Environment” policy. At 30 June 2006, 45 production sites out of 101 had obtained ISO 14001 certification, the international standard governing environmental management systems. In 2005-2006, Pernod Ricard invested €13 million in environmental conservation.
